One World - One Heart 2009

This post will stay at the top until 11 February, so please scroll down to see my regular posts - thank you - but, of course, please also look here and leave me a comment!

While visiting other blogs I've become aware of 'One World - One Heart' and have wanted to take part in this. However, because of present family circumstances, I've found it difficult to find time to organise what I would like to offer, but here at last is my post, which will stay on top of my blog until the closing date for comments, which is 11 February. A winner will be drawn on 12 February and the result will be posted here on my blog.

When you leave a comment - and I hope you do (please!) - your name will go into the draw. Please link me on your blog, mentioning also One World - One Heart. As I will need to contact the winner, please make sure you leave your name that links back to your blog or, if you don't have a blog, please leave an email contact within your comment.

If you click on the link to 'One World - One Heart' you will be able to read all about the global project.

The idea is that each person who participates in One World - One Heart will offer something handmade for someone to win. So, what am I offering?

First of all, a Christmas tag album - each tag is covered chipboard, measuring about 12 x 6.4 cms. The photos show the fronts and backs of the tags (there are six tags in all making up the mini album).

Also included is a blank beer mat mini-book measuring about 9.5 x 9.5 cms, plus the width of the binder.

I'm well aware that Christmas is a long way off, but you may wish to use these mini albums to show off some of your Christmas 2008 photos - you know, the ones that are still on your camera's memory card or on computer, waiting for you to do something with them.

Of course, you may wish to put them away in order to give them to someone else next Christmas (which I know seems a long way off, but you could at least then pride yourself with the thought that you have started organising your presents early this year.

As my gifts so far are Christmas based, I thought I would also offer a selection of goodies - Craft House 3D stickers, Avec butterfly rub ons Avec heart rub ons, 3 packs of Papermania alphabet stickers and a pack of 6 mini bouquet toppers:

Please be aware that all of these are to be won by one lucky person (presuming that I get some comments - please!)

Don't forget - you need to be in it to win it, so please leave me a comment and link me and OWOH on your own blog.

And it doesn't matter where you live - I will post to any address in the UK or abroad.

Peach and aqua Birthday card

This card is based on sketch 38 on Friday Sketchers:

The main colours are peach and aqua, which is the theme of the second challenge on Colour Create. There was also an option given of DIY flowers, so I think my stamped ones might qualify.

This week's One stop craft challenge 15 is Circles, and there are plenty on this card.

The papers are DCWV Pocket full of posies. A PM stamp has been stamped in the middle of the circles and heat embossed with moonglow two-toned morning glory and azure teal, which gives a much better sheen irl than on this scan.

Love song

The love theme continues and Tanda teaser 85, set by Sue, is 'hearts and flowers'.

The theme on TGIF is 71: masked ball. I'm hoping this card will be OK for that (it was the idea of the mask that brought about the card in the first place).

And on CBCC085 'Joanne set the topic of getting sentimental', the idea being to throw the spotlight on the sentiment.

I used BG scarlet's letter papers, a print out of the phantom's mask and rose and then added glossy accents to the mask and a paper rose. The red foiled hearts are the same, but just look different tones in the photo. The 'sentiment' is from the song 'All I ask of you' from Phantom of the Opera.

John's now playing the Phantom CD for us.

Flowers etc

Flowers seem to be figuring on a few challenge blogs this week, so I've made this card to Tamara's sketch 81:

'Flower's is the theme on this week's Arty Girlz challenge 72 and on Charisma Cardz challenge challenge 5 is a recipe: 3 different patterned papers, 2 flowers and 1 ribbon. So my card qualifies for these, although I'm sorry that there isn't very much ribbon, but it is there!

Papers used and stamps are Dawn Bibby designs.

Iris folding

I hadn't done any iris folding for ages and ages, but when I saw that this week's challenge on Inspire me Thursday was 'fold' I thought about it, so I got out the box of templates etc and this is what I've come up with:

I used scraps for the wall, moon and hearts and strips from inside envelopes for the folds for the cat. So I'm linking to Rosiedee challenge 21 set by Rosie to 'use up the scraps' and Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge 18 'recycling' (it's worth keeping those envelopes - been in the box a long time).

On ABC challenge they are starting again today at the beginning of the alphabet and the topic is 'A for Anniversary', so this card is just right for that.

I enjoyed doing this - I mustn't leave iris folding so long again.
