Vintage florals

This card if for TTC12-11 on Crafts by Carolyn forum which has been set by Adele, who is asking to see 'vintage florals'. I've used a ready decorated  background on to which I've added some Prima flowers and flower centre, as well as a couple of docrafts ones. The oval picture of the girl has been in my box for ages. I edged the rim with stazon vibrant violet and then lightly distressed with shaded lilac DI using an inkylicious blending brush. The three little dragon flies were punched ones - I have a whole bag of them in different colours that were punched out ages ago (they come in handy occasionally).

Sugar and spice ...

... and all things nice - that was the challenge Zoe set for the Christmas Card Club for today. When I first saw what the theme was I thought of including little girls - thinking of the rest of the rhyme ... that's what little girls are made of. But then I thought of sugar and spice things to eat at Christmas ... and my mind went to gingerbread men (or perhaps nowadays I should say gingerbread people).

When we were in Eastbourne early in September, I bought some bits and pieces on the market, including a lovely material gingerbread person - I thought that would be great to use on my card ... but I can't find it. As soon as we came back from Eastbourne we had to start arrangements for mum to go into a care home and then clear her flat etc and things got tucked away.

So in the end I resorted to using some papers that had come with a magazine and a few pieces from my Christmas offcuts box, so this is my first visit to Pixie's crafty snippets 45. The ribbon and the Merry Christmas sentiment (darkened with an alcohol pen) were from stash. The spiky scalloped circle was cut with a nestie.

I still need to catch up with a few challenges on Sunday's with Santa on facebook, so this is for week 35 (way back at the end of August!): easel card.
